RNA – Speaking at a high school graduation ceremony in Beirut, Shaykh Na’im Qassem, deputy secretary-general of Hezbollah, described the critical situation in the Middle East and said the entire region is in turmoil and almost every Arab country is struggling with serious problems.
His Eminence these problems do not have any conclusion in the foreseeable future. “Unfortunately, the efforts of sympathetic regional governments have not resulted in any political solution in Yemen and Syria. In Iraq, it is unlikely that political negotiations will stabilize the situation there,” he said.
The Lebanese cleric said that the “Resistance Axis” of Iran, Syria, Palestine and Hezbollah has been steadfast against the “colonialists” and they have made valuable achievements in Syria and other countries.
Shaykh Qassem added that Syria has stood against firm against the superpowers for almost five years and Saudi Arabia has achieved none of its objectives in Yemen, is suffering heavy losses and is on the verge of defeat in its ongoing six-month long war on the impoverished Arab nation. He also stated that Iran was also successful at achieving an agreement over its nuclear program. “These achievements show that the hostile American-Israeli axis is a failed axis and their failure is increasing every day,” he said.
He referred to the false American-led coalition against ISIL and said that the United States and its allies have not achieved anything despite their 3,500 air attacks on ISIL targets in a single year, but in the last few days, Russia has been able to destroy many of the Takfiri terrorists’ bases and forced them to retreat despite being supported by all the superpowers of the world.
Since the beginning of the air campaign on September 30th, Russian air forces have carried out about 140 strikes against terrorist positions in Syria.
The senior Hezbollah official that the reason that the American coalition has achieved nothing is because they are main supporters of ISIL and other Takfiri terrorist groups in the region and do not seek to eliminate them but to support them. However, Russia has directly targeted Takfiri elements.
In conclusion, Shaykh Qassem expressed hope that Russia’s intervention in Syria will lead to a political solution and that their actions will continue with greater power. “This is the position of the Resistance [Hezbollah],” he said.
