RNA – Shaykh Ahmad al-Qattan, the head of Lebanon’s Qawluna wal-Amal (We Say and Act) Society has released a statement in reaction to the deaths of 239 Iranian Hajj pilgrims in last Thursday’s stampede in Mina and offered his condolences to the Iranian nation and to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
The Lebanese Sunni scholar stated that which occurred in Mina was a painful incident and offered his condolences to the Muslims of world. “We ask God Almighty to place those who lost their lives the highest stations in heaven and to heal those who were injured,” he prayed.
His Eminence continued, saying that the Islamic world should heed the words of Iran’s Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, in regard to this issue. “It is clear to everyone that the active participation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this magnificent event can prevent the recurrence of such events in the future,” he said.
Shaykh al-Qattan called on Saudi Arabia to accept the participation of Islamic countries in the management of the Hajj ceremonies, calling it an important step to provide security to the pilgrims so that such a grievous event never occurs again.
