RNA – “Today, some who outwardly appear to be Muslims, claiming to be the ‘servants of the holy shrines’ have shamefully resorted to fratricide,” Hijjat al-Islam Sa'idi said, referring to the bloody Mina stampede incident.
He added that such individuals are the successors to Cain because of their ideology, jealousy and evil souls and did not even spare their neighbours and their Muslim brothers. They are a continuation of the path of the Umayyads who shed the blood of the ‘proof of God’ [Imam Husayn] in Karbala during the sacred month of Muharram.
The Iranian scholar noted that these modern-day descendants of Cain and the Umayyad clan are responsible for murder and spreading sedition among Muslims in the region and added that the United States, Israel and the pagans are profiting from this corruption and crimes.
“In regard to this, Ayatollah Khamenei recently stated that the foremost problem for Muslims is the atrocities and crimes committed by the Zionist regime and the US in the region and the repeated violations to the al-Aqsa Mosque and he called on Muslims to contemplate and to fulfill their Islamic duties,” Hujjat al-Islam Sa’idi said.
Dhul-Hijjah month of virtue, honour
"The Islamic lunar month of Dhul-Hijjah is a month of virtue and honour and those who vigilant must be familiar with the programs and practices of this month and act upon them," Hujjat al-Islam Sa'idi said.
“One of the most virtuous days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah is the day of Eid al-Adha which is a day to get closer to God,” he said.
Hujjat al-Islam Sa’idi said that the believers can seek closeness to God on the day of Eid al-Adha by offering a sacrifice, and said that as such acts of worship become purer and heavier, man will become closer to God.
He stated that Eid al-Adha is a day of divine testing and the late Ayatollah Mirza Javad Tabrizi says in his book “al-Muraqabat” that there are days in Dhul-Hijjah where the virtue is greater than the days of the holy month of Ramadhan.
Qom’s Friday prayers’ leader explained that Eid al-Ghadir is the day when Islam was completed and the completion of God’s blessings occurred. These two festivals are the two official holidays of Muslims and both occur during the month of Dhul-Hijjah. Eid al-Adha is a day of celebration over the accomplishment of the set of actions that the Hajj pilgrims must perform.
During the Hajj, the pilgrims face many restrictions while in the state of ihram, but on the day of Eid al-Adha they are free of these restrictions.
Hujjat al-Islam Sa’idi explained that the when offering a sacrifice on Eid al-Adha, we should observe the dignity of worship and take the practice of the Prophet Adam as a lesson. Only piety is the criterion for the acceptance of one’s sacrifice. “Based on the narrations, the reason for the rejection of Cain’s sacrifice was because he offered the most inferior goods for sacrifice,” he said.
The trustee of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah explained that in addition to Cain’s rebellion against God, he laid the foundations for the abominable tradition of fratricide by killing his brother, Abel. He added that Cain’s lack of belief in God and jealousy led to him presenting a unacceptable sacrifice and led him to martyr Abel.
His Eminence noted that Iran’s martyrs and veterans offered their lives and bodies on the path of God so that Islam and the flag of truth will endure and the soil of their homeland will remain safe from any assault by the enemies.
