Supreme Leader:
Rasa - Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei called on Hajj pilgrims to understand the real plights of the Muslims, and took the US and its allies responsible for the ongoing painful events in the Middle-East, Africa and Asia.
Supreme Leader

RNA - In the annual message his eminence delivers to Hajj pilgrims, his eminence urged all of the Islamic world's ulema and elites to fulfill their due responsibilities in dealing with wicked policies of the hegemonic powers.

"Today, the evil policies of the US in this region which have resulted in war, bloodshed, destruction and displacement as well as poverty, backwardness and sectarian and religious rifts, on one hand, and the Zionist regime's crimes whose usurper attitude has reached the utmost degree of cruelty and filth and its repeated insult to the sanctuary of al-Aqsa mosque and trampling the lives and properties of the oppressed Palestinians, on the other hand, are the first problems of all of you the Muslims about which you should think and understand your divine responsibility," Ayatollah Khamenei said in his message on Wednesday.

He also addressed the Muslim scholars, clerics and politicians, and advised them to understand the big pain of Islam and find a way to sooth it instead of igniting the fire of religious rift and passiveness against the enemies.

"The painful events in the region, including Iraq, the Levant (Syria and its surrounding), Yemen and Bahrain, the West Bank, Gaza and certain other Asian and African states are the big problems of the Islamic Ummah that the fingertips of the world arrogance (the US and its allies) should be seen in them and their remedies should be found," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

He said that the Muslim nations should ask their governments to fulfill their heavy responsibility in this regard.

Ayatollah Khamenei further expressed deep regret over the crane crash incident in Mecca Grand Mosque that claimed the lives of tens of pilgrims, including 11 from Iran, earlier this month, and cautioned Riyadh about its responsibility over the security of the pilgrims.

Hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, and a mandatory religious duty for Muslims that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime by all adult Muslims who are physically and financially capable of undertaking the journey, and can support their family during their absence.

To the Muslims, Hajj is associated with religious as well as social significance. Apart from being an obligatory religious duty, Hajj is seen to have a spiritual merit that provides the Muslims with an opportunity of self-renewal. Hajj serves as a reminder of the Day of Judgment when Muslims believe people will stand before God.
