RNA – Speaking during his advanced jurisprudence class at Qom’s Grand Mosque, Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi warned of the Western plots to influence Iran in the wake of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Addressing Iranian politicians, political parties and the public, he said that this nuclear deal has led to greed among the Western powers, adding: “They seek to use the implementation of the JCPOA to influence Iran.”
His Eminence added that the Western powers seek to influence Iran through war and regime change. “This is wishful thinking for them,” he said.
Ayatollah-Makarem Shirazi called on all parties to wake up, adding: “The West knows that Iran is not building an atomic bomb and their plan is to change Iran’s Islamic culture and we must be careful of this.”
The revered source of emulation emphasized that under such conditions we must be extremely vigilant.
“They do not seek to enter and gain influence through a military option – this is all empty bluff and bluster. They seek to achieve their goals through a ‘soft war’ by undermining the unity of the Iranian people and spreading corrupt Western culture in order to shake the peoples’ religious foundations,” he stressed.
He emphasized that it is not clear whether the Western powers will adhere to the same agreement that they agreed to in July. However, they will seek to influence Iran through any agreement.
“Government officials, the media and the seminaries must be careful as the enemies’ plots are complicated,” he said.
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi said that children of the revolution must not allow the enemies to achieve their sinister plans and expressed hope that those who have remained negligent or asleep will wake up.
“With their solidarity, compassion and unity they can eliminate the enemies’ plans,” he added.
In regard to the Western sanctions imposed on Iran, His Eminence stressed that they have been a tribulation but in addition to making achievements, Iran was obliged due the sanctions to rely on its own abilities and was able to achieve success in many areas and on many issues despite the harsh sanctions.
He added that in the face of these tribulations, Iranians must not despair should nor should they be passive, but also because of the emergence of problems, Iran must seek solutions.
