RNA – Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi has issued a statement in regard to the barbaric attacks by the Zionist regime on Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa Mosque which began last week.
The source of emulation’s statement published by Rasa News is as follows:
In the Name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Israel’s evil plan to partition the al-Aqsa Mosque by space and time between Muslims and Jews, which was followed by brutal attacks on worshipers [by Israeli forces], in order to turn this incident into a disaster, is unprecedented.
This is while the brave Muslims of Palestine have decided to take a desperate stand and prevent these crimes. Some of them have been injured and some have been brutally detained.
It is the duty of Muslims of the world to reject this disgrace and shame upon themselves and not to allow the Zionist regime to occupy the al-Aqsa Mosque, which is their first qiblah. The Muslims of Palestine should not be left alone.
Although some international organizations and some Islamic countries have condemned it, this is not enough.
All Muslims, clerics, scholars, politicians and brave youth must all fulfill their responsibilities by every means possible to help the Palestinian youth and to prevent this disaster.
Muslims must recognize their real enemies and never stretch out their hand to them. They must know that their enemies are not just the enemies of the Palestinian people or Islamic Iran. Wherever the [enemies] find them, they occupy every Islamic country and destroy their sanctities.
The silence of the supporters of the Zionists in the face of these terrible crimes is not surprising. They created this false regime in the heart of the Islamic world in order to weaken Muslims and steal their resources. They certainly support the [recent] crimes committed by the Zionists.
We ask God Almighty to awaken all officials in all Muslim countries and act responsibly in this critical situation.
…And may peace be upon him who follows guidance! [Holy Quran: 20:47]

Since last September 13th, Israeli security forces and settlers have been brutally attacking Palestinian worshippers and desecrating the mosque in order to prevent them from praying there. The al-Aqsa Mosque is Islam’s third-holiest site and first qiblah.
The Israeli government has indicated that it will press ahead with a plan to enlarge the Jewish prayer plaza at the Western Wall in Jerusalem’s Old City, despite warnings that the move risks triggering a third intifada.
