RNA – Speaking to Rasa News Agency, Shaykh Bilal Sha’ban, the General-Secretary of the Lebanon’s Islamic Unification Movement, stated that in the Holy Quran, God promises to help the oppressed against the oppressors and said: “Without doubt, according to a divine promise, the Zionist regime, which that is a clear example of an oppressive regime, will be destroyed soon.”
The Lebanese Sunni cleric cited a hadith from the Prophet Muhammad which stated that before the Day of Judgement, there will be great struggle between Muslims and Jews and Muslims will win this battle. This hadith refers to verses in the Quran which speak of the destruction of Israel and “their removal from the pages of time.”
He stressed that Israel on the brink of collapse and what prevents this regime’s fall into the abyss is the internal conflicts in Muslim countries. “After their war with Hezbollah in 2006 and their attack on the Gaza Strip in 2014, the Zionist regime soon realized that nothing from the duration of their ruthless regime will remain. Even Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Israel is grappling with an existential crisis,” he said.
Shaykh Sha’ban explained that the end of internal divisions among Muslims is equivalent to the beginning of the countdown of the destruction of Israel. He said that Israel, which is based on occupation and racial discrimination, is moving toward self-destruction because it has no authenticity and nature related to the fields of religion and humanity.
The Secretary-General of the Islamic Unification Movement referred to the dissension between Sunnis and Shi’a Muslims and noted: “Those who think that the United States supports Sunnis and is anti-Shi’a or vice-versa live in an illusion and have been deprived of maturity and wisdom. The US is not on the side of the Sunnis nor does it support the Shi’as. The US is the Great Satan who applies all their efforts into destroying Islam and Muslims.”
In response to a question in relation to the Axis of Resistance’s actions in regard to Israel’s destruction, he said the Islamic Resistance is trying to institutionalize the spirit of resistance in all Muslims.
“It is time that all Muslims take steps toward this goal,” he said.
Shaykh Sha’ban went on to say that this is contrary to the wishes of many Arab countries who are trying to portray the Resistance as a political front. The Arab countries are trying to link the Palestinian issue to the Sunnis and portray the Resistance Axis as being in the hands of the Shi’as. They consider discord between these two groups an efficient way to reduce the strength of the Resistance Axis.
“However, the issue of Palestine belongs to all Muslims, and in this matter is not between Sunnis and Shi’as,” he said.
The Lebanese Sunni scholar also criticized the several Arabic countries who haver diplomatic relations with the Zionist entity and stated: “Every country whose political path and approach is aligned with the Zionist regime will see that in the event of Israel’s collapse, they will too be faced with the same end.”
