RNA – Speaking during his principles of jurisprudence class at Qom’s Grand Mosque, Grand Ayatollah Ja’far Sobhani referred to the crane collapse that killed 107 people and injured 238, including 25 Iranians, in the Grand Mosque of Mecca.
Ayatollah Sobhani cited the incident in the Grand Mosque as a “painful calamity” and a “tragedy” and said: “As soon as we heard that such an incident occurred in Mecca, we were left in great grief and pain.”
The revered professor in the Islamic Seminary of Qom stressed that a large number these Hajj pilgrims, who are considered as “guests of God,” lost their lives due to the unreliability and negligence of Saudi Arabian officials and the House of Saud’s failure to preserve the lives of the pilgrims.
His Eminence also spoke a few short sentences in Arabic and prayed for the happiness of the souls of the deceased in the incident.
Ayatollah Sobhani also offered his condolences on the martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Shi’a Imam, Muhammad ibn Ali al-Jawad, and explained the virtues of the Imam.
