RNA – Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Mohammad Sa’idi, the trustee of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah, has met with commanders and officials from the Hazrat-e Ma’sumeh Air Defense Base in Qom, where he stated that the mission of this base is resistance against any possible threat or attack by Iran’s enemies.

His Eminence advised that in the field of defense, Iranian officials must establish the best form, the most effective, least expensive and the most instructive methods of defense, adding that the 1980 Tabas incident (Operation Eagle Claw) which led to a humiliating defeat for the United States, was an important lesson for Iran.

“In this incident, the enemy used all the tools and techniques which they had but God Almighty acted against them and their defeat was a great lesson for them,” he said.

Hujjat al-Islam Sa’idi referred to the belief of divine intervention, but warned that we should not close our hearts to conventional weapons and organization but also, God will not aid those who not believe in his means and power to aid the believers.

He explained that Iran’s great power in the world today is due to the blessings of Islamic Revolution, the leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, and our nuclear negotiating team who successfully reached an agreement with the P5+1 group of countries.

“These negotiations were not the result of any change in the enemies’ positions over Iran but because they were forced to negotiate due to Iran’s power,” he said.

He qouted Ayatollah Khamenei as saying that Iran’s defense options to deal with the threats against it should be varied and not repetitive in order to be effective and so that the enemies cannot penetrate the country.

“The element of surprise is important. The enemy uses the element of surprise to try and attack or plot with stealth,” he said.

Qom’s Friday prayers’ leader stressed upon the necessity of foresight in regard to a possible attack and its negative effects. He explained that an attack on a regional country may inflict much damage but ultimately, the attack will become something negative for the attackers and only have temporary advantages for them.
