RNA – During his trip to Azerbaijan, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani told a group of citizens of the city of Ganja that the unity and solidarity of the Islamic ummah can foil all the enemies’ conspiracies.
He pointed to the importance of unity from the perspective of the Quran and in authentic narrations from the Ahlul-Bayt, explaining that Islam is a religion of equality, fraternity and equality. “From the perspective of Islamic and Quranic teachings, no nation is greater than another nation, and in God’s eyes they are all the same,” he said.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani stressed that the sole criterion of distinction in Islam is piety, and noted that today more than ever, the Islamic world is in need of unity and solidarity to confront the enemies of Islam because the only way to deal with the enemies’ conspiracies is through unity which emphasizes religious commonalities.
In another part of his speech, the renowned source of emulation referred to some of the crimes committed by Takfiri and Salafi terrorist groups throughout the Middle East, saying that by creating and supporting Takfiri terrorist groups, such as ISIL, the enemies of Islam seek to create division in the Islamic world.
His Eminence emphasized that the fundamental nature of the existence of ISIL is to sow discord among Muslims, adding: “By witnessing the crimes of these extremist and terrorist groups, today, more than ever before, we must think about the proximity of Islamic sects and unity among Muslims.”
Also, in a speech honouring Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani, Allahshükür Hummat Pashazadeh, the chairman of the Religious Council of the Caucasus, outlined His Eminence’s scientific and political records and status, saying: “He is one of the greatest sources of emulation and throughout his pure life, he has written numerous books and provided valuable services to the Muslim world and has trained many students.”
