RNA – In an exclusive interview with Rasa News Agency, Shaykh Ahmad al-Qattan, the head of Lebanon’s Qawluna wal-Amal (We Say and Act) Society spoke of the recent events in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, saying that the actions of Zionist regime and its settlers in the al-Aqsa Mosque and in the West Bank are clear examples of oppression against the oppressed Muslims of Palestine.
He added that the lack of concern shown by the Arab and Islamic world allows the Zionists to continue their crimes.
He stated that supporting the Palestinian people is the duty of the religious scholars in both the Eastern and Western parts of the world, adding: “Muslims throughout the world must protest the insults made by the [Zionist] settlers against Islam and their attacks on the al-Aqsa Mosque. Supporting the first qiblah [direction of prayer] of Muslims is the duty of the Arab Islamic nations.”
He named the United States as "the greatest threat to the Muslim world" adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran has managed to achieve progress due to its resistance against the ‘global arrogance’ and "we as Lebanese Sunnis are proud of this Islamic nation which stands against the hostility of the Zionist regime and the US.”
Shaykh al-Qattan condemned the recent attack on the house of the Dawabshah family by a gang of Zionist settlers saying this action that led to an innocent Palestinian toddler being burned alive shows the extent of the Zionists’ hatred of Muslims.
The president of Lebanon Qawluna wal-Amal Society warned against the divisive rhetoric among Muslims in the region and added that Muslims must be vigilant in the face of the enemies’ provocation of sedition in the region and added that Muslims must not allow extremists to exploit their negligence or create strong tensions which disrupt Islamic unity.
His Eminence criticized Saudi Arabia’s position on the Palestinian cause saying that Saudi Arabia, which is an Islamic Arab country, has taken no positive action toward the liberation of the holy city of Jerusalem al-Quds and with their war against the Muslim people of Yemen, they have completely left the path of a true Islamic country.
Shaykh al-Qattan outlined the expectations of Saudi Arabia among other Islamic countries, saying that Saudi Arabia’s rulers claim to be the “Servants of the Two Holy Shrines” and said that Muslims have expectations from Saudi officials that they use their country’s military capabilities to confront the usurper Israel and help liberation the oppressed Palestinian people from the clutches of the Zionist colonizers. “Unfortunately, Saudi Arabia uses its huge capital resources to take Muslims’ lives in Yemen,” he stated.
In conclusion, His Eminence stated that Zionists and Takfiri groups have common interests in the region and stated Takfiri terrorists have never been involved in conflict with Israeli military forces and this is because of the shared terrorist goals between the two groups. Takfiri groups who claim to be Islamic have joined with the forces of the ‘global arrogance’ to fight the Arab and Islamic world and shed the blood of Muslims. The Takfiris relationship with Zionists has created a great danger in the Muslim world, which is neither Shi’a nor Sunni, but it is a threat to humanity,” he explained.
