RNA – Shaykh Abdul-Latif al-Hamim, the head of the Sunni Endowment of Iraq, has met with Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Ala al-Mousawi, the head of the country’s Shi’a Endowment, at the office in Baghdad for dialogue over the importance of a sustained fight against fanaticism and extremism.
The two sides called for increased cooperation between the Sunni and Shi’ite endowment organizations in order to overcome the terrorist threats emanating from Takfiri groups and to achieve security.
They also announced that they were working on “a national project to fight extremism and terrorism” in Iraq.
The head of the Shi’ite Endowment said that Sunni and Shi’ite Muslims must unite in order to end ISIL’s terrorist plots against the Arab nation. “One of the plots that have been implemented by Wahhabis in different countries is to create dissension between Sunni and Shi’ite Muslims,” he said.
The head of the Sunni Endowment also stressed on the need for cooperation between the two religious organizations to rid Iraq of ISIL. “All of us are in the same boat so we must confront any issue which causes insecurity and instability in Iraq,” he said.
Hujjat al-Islam al-Mousawi noted that the head of the Sunni Endowment has an excellent and clear vision to deal with the problems facing Iraq. “With the help of this organization, we can deal with the present dangers facing this country and prevent the terrorists’ plots aimed at destabilizing the peace and security of Iraq,” he said.
He also offered his congratulations to Shaykh al-Hamim on his appointment as the head of the Sunni Endowment.
