RNA – Ayatollah Sayyed Ahmad Khatami, a member of the Assembly of Experts, in his meeting with youth and Quranic activists stressed that the enemy has always tried and will continue to try to destroy the Iranian people’s religious sentiments and the Islamic Republic of Iran’s independence-mindedness, adding that throughout different periods they have pursued this aim in various forms.
Speaking to the youth in the city where the infamous failure of the Americans’ “Operation Eagle Claw” occurred in 1980, he advised them to visit museums and witness for themselves the enemies’ crimes against the Iranian Islamic Revolution.
Ayatollah Khatami noted Iran’s undisputed power during its recent nuclear negotiations with the P5+1 group of countries, saying that today Iran was on one side of the battlefield and the six superpowers that it negotiated with are on the other side, but Iran was able to apply all of its power during the negotiations, and was successful.
His Eminence emphasized that Iran’s future is quite bright, and added that during the nuclear negotiations, the enemies tried to polarize Iranian society and we must prevent their plots.
He explained that the United States’ negotiating team was made up of 120 individuals, but Iran’s negotiating team only consisted of 20 individuals. Despite this imbalance, the Iranian negotiators used all of their abilities to defend their nations’ rights and independence. “Thus, we must keep our heads up because we live in a country that no power has the right to overlook,” he said.
Regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran’s military power, Tehran’s Friday prayers’ leader said that the ridiculous comments that the United States’ government has made since the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was signed on July 14th and their announcement that they have left “all options on the table” shows their ineptitude because they know well that if Israel behave cheekily for even a moment, Tel Aviv and Haifa will be razed to the ground.
Ayatollah Khatami said that the Americans’ usage of the phrase “all options are on the table” cannot be used as their slogan because they know that Iran is a strong country. “This is nothing but rhetoric and the United States only aims to apply this phrase to maintain their reputation in the global arena,” he argued.
He stressed that no American military threat is a threat to Iran, saying: “If they invade, they will be going back home in their coffins.”
The renowned scholar stated that weakening religious beliefs, spreading moral degeneration through the proliferation of satellite channels, spreading political degeneration increasing animosity against Wilayat al-Faqih (Guardianship of the Jurisprudence), and spreading dissemination are four of the enemies’ targets. “The insightful Iranian people cannot allow the enemy to achieve their sinister goals,” he stressed.
Ayatollah Khatami pointed out that the enemy is trying to polarize Iranian society and the country’s Islamic system in order to fulfill their vile purposes. “With their hostile media, the enemies are trying to polarize society and dominate the country,” adding: “This is especially true in regard to the nuclear agreement.’
