Rasa - The head of the office of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has praised the Iranian negotiating team for its remarkable performance in the nuclear talks with the P5+1.

RNA - Iran’s nuclear negotiating team “stood courageously” in the face of enemies, Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammadi-Golpayegani said on Friday.

It is only Iran that possesses the capability to stand up to the US, he said, stressing that the Islamic Republic “is never after war, but if the United States seeks to take an [aggressive] measure, it will end up ashamed and frustrated.”

“People have tasted freedom after the victory of the Islamic Revolution and will under no circumstances allow the [global] arrogance to infiltrate [into the country],” he added.

Following talks in the Austrian capital of Vienna on July 14, Iran and the P5+1 group of countries – the US, Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany – finalized the text of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).Earlier this week, the UN Security Council (UNSC) unanimously endorsed a draft resolution, turning the JCPOA into international law.

‘Israel, Saudi crimes alike’

Mohammadi-Golpayegani also sharply condemned the atrocities of Saudi Arabia against Yemen.

“Their (the Saudis’) crimes in Yemen are like [the ones carried out by] the usurping and infanticide Zionist regime (Israel),” he said, adding, “Both regimes kill Muslims’ defenseless children.”

Saudi Arabia launched military strikes against Yemen on March 26 – without a United Nations mandate – in a bid to undermine the country’s Houthi Ansarullah movement and to restore power to Yemen’s fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, who is a staunch ally of Riyadh.

Local sources say over 4,500 people have lost their lives in the Saudi onslaught.
