RNA – Ayatollah Abdul-Amir Qablan, the vice-president of the Supreme Islamic Shi’i Council of Lebanon, met with Ali Abbas Bandar al-Amiri, the new Iraqi ambassador in Beirut to discuss the current situation in the region.
The two sides emphasized on the need to strengthen bilateral relations between the two peoples and the two brotherly countries.
In terms of strengthening the brotherly relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, he emphasized that Lebanon is the second home of the Iraqi people and explained that ties between Iraq and Lebanon are very important.
Ayatollah Qablan explained that terrorism has no religion or sect and is contrary to all norms and laws and human and religious values.
The vice-president of the Supreme Islamic Shi’i Council described the terrorist acts committed by Takfiri militants as “brutal and spiteful acts by individuals who hate human values” and urged a intellectual and military struggle against those who have taken murder as a profession.
Ayatollah Qablan stressed the need for the solidarity and cooperation among the Iraqi people in order to counter Takfiri terrorism, stressing that in order to regain a sense of safety and security in the war-torn Middle East, the government of Iraq must impose its authority on the ground and unite Iraqis in the crucible of national unity and cooperation.
Through these means, Iraq can regain its health, strength and leadership role in the Arab and Islamic world and eliminate the threat of terrorism in the country.
