Rasa - President Rouhani said: "The martyr Beheshti in addition to having a great right over the judiciary, has a great right over the nation of Iran."

RNA - The President Hassan Rohani today in a conference to celebrate the 'week of the judiciary' which took place in the international conference centre of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said: The martyr Beheshti in addition to having a great right over the judiciary, has a great right over the nation of Iran which in the words of the late Imam (Khomeini); he (Beheshti) was an entire nation for the nation of Iran and he was a thorn in the eyes of the enemies of Islam.


He added: The martyr Beheshti through the establishment of many schools and institutions - in particular the school for knowledge and religion in the city of Qom - sought to train educators and professors.


On 28 June 1981 a powerful bomb went off at the headquarters of the Iran Islamic Republic Party in Tehran, while a meeting of party leaders was in progress.


Seventy-three leading officials of the Islamic Republic were killed, including Chief Justice Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti. The MKO terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the attack.


"(The martyr Beheshti) played a large role in the Islamic cause and political movement in the Islamic nation as well as having an impact on the leadership of the late Imam, in addition t
o playing an important role in the establishment of the Combatant Clergy Association and the victory of the Islamic Revolution," he said.


The President also explained that the martyr Beheshti taught us that "in the path of the Islamic Revolution and its solidification, securing the rights and interests of the people means that we must set aside everything else - even our personal reputation and honour."
