RNA – Grand Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi-Golpaygani has issued a statement condemning the  massacre of Shi’ite worshippers attending Friday prayers at Kuwait City’s Imam al-Sadiq (A) Mosque in a terrorist act which the ISIL Takfiri terrorists have claimed responsibility for.

His Eminence began by citing the blessed verse of the Holy Quran: “Indeed we belong to God and to Him do we indeed return” [2:156].

This source of emulation lamented the serious terrorist act, in which 26 people have been killed and more than 220 have been injured.

He expressed his remorse that the suicide bomber killed worshipers in the holy month of Ramadan, the month of mercy.

“On the best of days during the best of months, and in the best location – a mosque – and in the best position – prostration – someone brutally attacked and martyred a group of worshippers who are Shi’ites [followers] of the Holy Family of the Prophet [Muhammad] (S), as a result of misguidance and dark-heartedness,” he explained.

Ayatollah Safi-Golpaygani added: “We condemn this evil crime committed by the enemies of religion and humanity and declare our grief and sorrow at the loss of the dear martyrs of this incident.”

At the end of his statement, His Eminence prayed for divine contentment, saying: “We ask the Almighty that He accept their martyrdom and that these great martyrs are gathered with the Ahlul-Bayt (A), those injured in the event have a speedy recovery and that God grant the survivors and the families of the martyrs patience and fortitude.”
