RNA - Kuwait parliament member and head of the Geneva-based international human rights organization Abdu-Hamid Dashti in a statement issued on the issue considered the verdict as an obvious violation of the human rights, which he said is contrary to the expectation that Ale Khalifa regime will compromise with the Bahraini nation and yield to their legitimate, righteous demands.
He emphasized that the five-year imprisonment term against the freedom-seeker Bahraini clergy is issued in a politically-motivated court and is aimed at revenge taking from the Bahraini nation that highly respect and love him.
'No lawyer was allowed to defend Sheikh Salman during his hearing sessions in the court, which is sufficient proof that the verdict issued against him is invalid,' said the prominent Arab lawmaker.
Dashti has meanwhile predicted that the verdict will only lead to further escalation of unrest and chaotic conditions in the tiny island country, asking the regional and international human rights organizations to voice their serious concern about the unjustly issued verdict urgently and broadly, thus supporting the righteous demands of the oppressed Bahraini nation.
