Rasa News Agency Reports – At the end of his seminary class this morning, Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani mentioned the sensitivity of the Iranian election and demanded the candidates to heed the election morality in campaigning and said: “In Iran’s 2009 [presidential] election, some candidates were denying each other[’s right] and that’s why we witnessed [their] immorality”.
“Those of candidates who are acting immoral and launching propaganda [against their rivals] and also those who are spreading these propagandas and listening to them are all acting against law” he stressed.
Addressing the presidential candidates, the jurist indicated: “If you want to act Islamic, you need to just talk about yourself and not destroy others characters”.
Mentioning the important role of Islamic Republic’s main stream media regarding the election, he said: “Media should avoid spreading lie in order not to provide ground for the enemy to exploit.”
Ayatollah Sobhani emphasized that candidates’ actions are being carefully examined by the enemy and declared: “You must avoid insulting individuals.”
