RNA – In an exclusive interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Haidar Husaini, the president of the Quranic Association of Pakistan, stated that the separation of religion and politics is the most important feature of “American Islam.”
“American Islam” isn’t the Islam practiced by Muslims across the United States. Rather, it is a depoliticized perversion of the true faith, devoid of the revolutionary sentiment that guides the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Hujjat al-Islam Husaini added that this false form of Islam attempts to stifle the voice of Muslims. According to American Islam, religious scholars should only enjoin worship and should not raise their voices against oppression and oppressive rulers.
The Pakistani scholar added that Imam Khomeini introduced true Muhammadan Islam in opposition to American Islam, adding that “Pure Muhammadan Islam is a form of Islam which sees religion and politics as one. The Islam that Imam Khomeini introduced to the world is the same Islam that the Prophet Muhammad introduced. In Islam, oppressive leaders are unacceptable and we must stand up against them.”
Hujjat al-Islam Husaini explained that according to Imam Khomeini, the House of Saud are considered as the followers of American Islam. Imam Khomeini realized that this family is a symbol of dictatorship and added that they target the dignity of Muslims. They seek to legitimize their rule over the Arabian peninsula and try to accomplish this through force.
“Ironically, while Saudi Arabia attacks Yemen, they have not said anything negative about Israel’s crimes against the Palestinians,” he said.
The president of the Quranic Association of Pakistan referred to the role Saudi muftis have played in the development of Takfiri groups in the Middle East. He explained that they issue whatever fatwas (religious edicts) necessary to keep the House of Saud in power.
He stressed that most Sunnis do not accept these Wahhabi muftis’ baseless and weak fatwas. In most situations, Saudi muftis act according to the commands of the United States and Israel when issuing fatwas, which cause many problems for the Islamic world.
Hujjat al-Islam Husaini stated that he views Imam Khomeini as the main element of opposition to the imperialist countries, adding: “Just as the martyr Muhammad-Baqir al-Sadr stated ‘melt in Imam Khomeini as he melted in Islam,’ we believe that the US is the Great Satan and that Imam Khomeini’s discourse is the manifestation of true Islam.
He added that the US and Islam are in conflict with each other, and we must specify our true allegiance in this battle. “Israel as a cancerous tumour which was created by the US and Western countries. We must realize that this false regime is our enemy and fight against it just as Imam Khomeini fought against ‘American Islam’ until the end of his life,” he stressed.
The head of the Quranic Association of Pakistan also stated that Jerusalem was the first qiblah (direction of prayer) of Muslims and Imam Khomeini also introduced this holy city was the focus of combat against the Israeli regime. “For as long as he lived, Imam Khomeini supported the cause of liberating Jerusalem and Ayatollah Khamenei also supports this cause. However, some Arab countries have not understood the importance of Jerusalem and due to their ignorance, they have opposed the Islamic Resistance groups and have shaken hands with the Zionists,” he explained.
Hujjat al-Islam Husaini saw the US as unreliable, saying that since its founding, the US has been plundering from and killing the oppressed people of the world. “Imam Khomeini also knew this, and until the end of his life, he considered the US as the main enemy of the free people of the world,” he said.
