RNA – In an exclusive interview with Rasa News Agency, Shaykh Abdullah Katamtu, the director of the Iran-Palestine Friendship Association stated: “Every year, I have participated in a conference held on the anniversary of the death of Imam Khomeini and listened to the speech of Imam Khamenei. He gives importance to all the concerns brought forward by Imam Khomeini and has also added his own experiences.”
The Palestinian scholar pointed to the ongoing developments of the Islamic Republic of Iran in various fields, saying that Imam Khamenei taught us to remain firm and maintain a strong will, adding that every day, Iran becomes stronger.
Shaykh Katamtu explained that Ayatollah Khamenei has always stressed the necessity of standing up to the enemy and associating with the friendly nations and emphasized importance of this strategy for international relations.
His Eminence said that Iran’s Supreme Leader seeks to maintain the Iranians peoples’ dignity and stands alongside them and does not consider himself their leader. “The Supreme Leader has never considered himself better or more important than others,” he said.
The Imam of the al-Wasim Mosque in Damascus’ Yarmouk refugee camp explained that Imam Khomeini considered the United States as the “Great Satan,” adding that Imam Khomeini gave the most pertinent attribute to the US. “This ‘devil’ seeks to trample the rights of others and wants people to consider each other as their enemy,” he stated.
The Sunni scholar said that once we realize that the US America is the Great Satan, we have a duty to stand up and unite with our brothers against them.
Shaykh Katamtu offered his condolences on the anniversary of the demise of Imam Khomeini, saying: “Imam Khomeini was a godly mystic and was compassionate toward the oppressed. His words flowed from his heart which was full of faith in God. He sought the freedom of man based on the Holy Quran and the path of the Prophet Muhammad. He also emphasized the distinction between friend and foe.”
His Eminence concluded by explained that Imam Khomeini’s main concern was to awaken the people and stand up against injustice, particularly that created by the US’ policies. He strived to explain how to properly resist against the US to the world.
“The Palestinian people learned how to resist the US and Israel from Imam Khomeini,” he stressed.
