RNA – In an exclusive interview with Rasa News Agency, Imaduddin al-Hamrouni, a Tunisian Shi’a scholar and the president of the Ahlul-Bayt Institute in the North African country, has referred to the predictions of Imam Khomeini (RA) in regard to the current state of the Islamic world.
al-Hamrouni added that before and after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, and even after the eight-year long Iran-Iraq War, Imam Khomeini insisted on the unity of the Islamic world and emphasized the treachery of some Arab rulers, particularly those of the House of Saud, who he considered as the mercenaries of the arrogant powers.
On June 3rd, Iran will commemorate the 26th anniversary of the demise of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ruhollah Mousavi-Khomeini, who is better known as Imam Khomeini. He spearheaded Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, which led to the overthrow of the US-backed Shah of Iran.
Imam Khomeini passed away on June 3, 1989 at the age of 87.
The Shi’a scholar emphasized the importance of cursing the oppressors, especially America and the House of Saud, during religious ceremonies, such as Ashura. He explained that these powers seek to distort the Islamic Awakening and its impact on the Islamic Resistance and Islamic unity
He stated that the impact of American Islam on authentic Muhammadan Islam is a serious issue, but added that through revolution and an Islamic system of government, we can stand against the American and Takfiri arrogance in Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen.
Imam Khomeini warned of Saudi-Zionist alliance
Al-Hamrouni explained that Imam Khomeini emphasized the relationship between Wahhabism and international Zionism and said that Imam Khomeini was aware of the relationship between Zionism and Wahhabism from the 1940s on. In his lectures, he emphasized this issue and added that during the 1987 hajj pilgrimage, 700 Iranians were martyred by the Saudi regime for speaking out against the Saudi-Zionist alliance.
The president of Tunisia’s Ahlul-Bayt Institute explained that Imam Khomeini established al-Quds Day and Islamic Week unity as measures against the conspiracies of the House of Saud. He realized the role of the Saudi regime in the Zionist’s occupation of Palestine.
He added that Imam Khomeini said that Islamic political and religious unity places the Saudi/Wahhabi/Takfiri alliance with the Zionists in danger as it is authentic Islam and stands against the Zionist plan to brainwash young people that genuine Islam is Wahhabi Islam.
Al-Hamrouni explained that many Western youth have a great interest in Islam, and stressed that because the Wahhabis have been strongly promoting their ideology, it has led to many youths to assume that Wahhabism is the true form of Islam. “Due to this, it is important that we deal with these young people who are under the influence of Wahhabism and save them,” he explained.
The Tunisian Shi’a scholar stressed that the discourse of Imam Khomeini can stand against the followers of the Wahhabi ideology, who are taking the lives of innocent people in Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
al-Hamrouni stated that Imam Khomeini’s description of the United States as the “Great Satan” is one of the most important lessons to Muslims. We should never trust in the US because this country is our permanent enemy and it is our strategy to not trust anything they say or do.
The Shi’a scholar said the lack of communication with the “Great Satan,” which God has warned us about, it one of the successes of the Islamic Republic of Iran and due to this, authentic Muhammadan Islam has survived.

He explained that Imam Khomeini (RA) stressed that “American Islam” is against authentic Muhammadan Islam. He added that this false ideology seeks to destroy authentic Muhammadan Islam because it stands up against imperialism, for which Wahhabism was created to serve.
