RNA – Speaking at a ceremony today in southern Lebanon to commemorate one of the martyrs from Hezbollah, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Ibrahim-Amin al-Sayyid, the chairman of the Political Council of Hezbollah, stated that the battle of Islamic Resistance with the Zionist regime and its battle against Takfiri terrorist is one battle.

“Those who think that the fight against the Israel is a different fight from the war against the Takfiris is wrong. The major difference between Israel and the Takfiri groups is that Israel is a foreign enemy but the Takfiri groups have established from the heart of the Islamic community,” he stated.

He emphasized that the publication of gruesome images by Takfiri groups is a part of their media efforts to propagate an aura of invincibility.

Hujjat al-Islam al-Sayyid added that the Takfiri terrorists attempt to undermine the people's morale before attacking them in order to weaken them. He said Takfiris primarily seek to undermine and destroy the people's and Islamic Resistance's will to resist and fight them by publishing video clips and images of their gruesome crimes.

The Lebanese scholar said that these Takfiri groups threaten all Islamic sects and other religious groups in Lebanon and other Middle Eastern countries. “Just as Takfiris threaten Muslims, they threaten Christians in the region and around the world. Unfortunately, the positions of some groups and political parties in Lebanon is in no way proportionate with the level of the Takfiri threat to the country,” he said.

He criticised the March 14 Alliance’s stance against terrorism in Lebanon, saying the passive position taken by the March 14 Alliance goes back to the beginning of the Syrian crisis in 2011. This anti-Syrian government coalition has supported the armed groups fighting in Syria by giving them  weapons and medical aid.
