RNA – Shaykh Khalid Abdul-Wahhab al-Mulla, the chairman of Iraq’s Council of Sunni Scholars, has stressed the need for solidarity and unity among all Muslims in the face of terrorist groups, particularly ISIL.

Shaykh al-Mulla explained that every day, the true goals and beliefs of the ISIL terrorist group become more obvious and completely evident that the approach and method taken by ISIL is that of the Wahhabi ideology. This group has attacked the belief, religion, heritage and cultural of the Islamic community and has even called for the destruction of the Islamic community.

The Iraqi Sunni scholar referred to the current situation in Syria and Iraq, saying these countries are now suffering from the actions of Takfiri terrorist groups and the security situation in Syria and Iraq has been completely destabilized. He stressed that we should not ignore the fact the role that the Wahhabi ideology has played in the destabilization of the region.

He also emphasized that Muslims must work hand in hand and stand united against such terrorist groups. These Takfiri groups claim to be working under the title of Islam but their ideology stands upon the foundation of Salafism and Wahhabism.

The chairman of Iraq’s Council of Sunni Scholars said that the brutal measures enjoined by the ISIL terrorist group are proof of the invalidity of their ideology. He urged the Saudi clergy to confess their role and mistakes which led to the emergence of such extremist and terrorist groups, adding that these Saudi government-supported clergy are the main factors in the creation of ISIL.

Shaykh al-Mulla also confirmed the recent call by Sayyid Hasan Nasrallah, the secretary-general of Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement, for unity to confront the Takfiri phenomenon, adding that the real solution to this problem is through Muslim unity.

In a speech on May 24, the Hezbollah leader referred to the ISIL threat, saying that “we stand before a danger that is unparalleled in history.” He added that we must understand the Takfiri threat and also warned that we cannot remain silent against the Takfiri threat as it would be unproductive and urged that we must take initiatives against it.

Shaykh al-Mulla added that we need to take the speeches and words of these scholars and warriors as our models.
