RNA – Shaykh Ali Ibrahim al-Isawi, the congregational prayer leader of a mosque in Iraq’s largely ISIL-occupied western province of al-Anbar, has stated that jihad against the Takfiri ISIL terrorists is an “obligatory duty for residents of the province” in order to protect the honour and property of the people.

The Sunni Muslim scholar said the ISIL terrorist group has displaced many citizens of al-Anbar province and destroyed their homes. Due to the massive damages inflicted on the property of residents of the war-torn province, they have no choice but to fight and protect their homes and honour.

According to United Nations ISIL’s advance in the province and fierce fighting have forced tens of thousands of people to flee the region. More than 90,000 people have reportedly fled Ramadi and three nearby villages, UN Humanitarian Agency reported.

Shaykh al-Isawi also added that some political and religious groups are engaged in destruction, murder and theft in al-Anbar province for their political and personal benefit. He stressed that the danger of these groups is less than the danger of ISIL for the residents of al-Anbar province.

Terrorists with the Takfiri ISIL group have reportedly executed at least 6,000 people in the sprawling western Iraqi province of al-Anbar since late 2013.

Iraqi soldiers, police units, Kurdish forces, Shi’a fighters and Sunni tribesmen have been engaged in joint operations to drive the terrorists out of the areas they have seized.
