RNA - Hojjatoleslam Meysam Amroudi, the deputy head of Tehran municipality for cultural and social affairs, has been reportedly arrested in Kuwait City airport while returning to Iran from a personal, unofficial visit to the Arab country.
A few hours later, an informed source at the Iranian embassy in Kuwait told FNA that Amroudi was not allowed to fly back to Iran for visa problems, but "the issue has now been resolved and he will come back on the first flight to Iran".
The source said the problem was "some discrepancy in the name mentioned in his visa and his passport".
Mr. Amroudi is at the Kuwait airport right now, the source said, reiterating that Iran’s embassy in Kuwait is closely pursuing the problem.
Sources say that Amroudi used to be heading Iranian schools in Kuwait. He had once been reportedly deported from Kuwait due to his religious and anti-Zionist activities a few years ago.
