RNA – During his Friday prayer sermon in the holy city of Qom, Ayatollah Sayyed Hashem Hoseyni-Bushehri, the trustee of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah (S) reminded the April 24th as the anniversary of the 1980 failure of the Americans ill-fated “Operation Eagle Claw,” saying: “From the beginning of the Islamic Revolution until now, Iran has been subject to God’s divine aid. The most important aspects of this divine aid were the victory of the Islamic movement, Iran’s victory over Saddam’s forces in the eight-year long Imposed War and the disastrous defeat of the Americans in the desert of Tabas.”
Qom’s Friday prayer leader added that 27 days after the Saudi-led assault on Yemen began and after killing innumerable innocent men, women and children, the Saudis have issued a unilateral ceasefire, declaring that their country’s defence ministry has achieved all of their objectives. “Their objective was to restore President Abd-Rabbuh Mansur Hadi to power, but our question where is he now?”
Ayatollah Bushehri added that one of Saudi Arabia’s other stated objectives was to destroy the Ansarullah [Houthis] popular resistance forces, explaining: “Now, we see that few Ansarullah members have been killed but meanwhile the Bab al-Mandab is under Ansarullah’s control while the Saudi’s have stated that they sought to control this strategic strait.”
The Member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom referred to the Saudi’s request for cooperation from other countries in their war against Yemen. Pakistan rejected participation from the start and Turkey also expressed opposition. Egypt and Qatar retreated from their support after a few days. Finally, only Saudi Arabia and the UAE remained. “What has this ‘great coalition’ really achieved?” he said.
Ayatollah Bushehri emphasized that Saudi Arabia entered the war against Yemen on behalf of the United States. He added that Ansarullah has came out on top since the beginning of Saudi Arabia’s Operation Decisive Storm. Before March 25th, Ansarullah controlled only 5 of Yemen’s 21 governorates in their northern stronghold but now control at least parts of 18 governorates across the country.
His Eminence referred to the numerous ceasefire violations by the Saudis since announcing the end of Operation Decisive Storm and the beginning of their next phase “Operation Restoring Hope” where they claim they will be launching political and peace efforts. “This war showed that the blood is still on the sword of victory,” he stated.
The Qom Seminary professor said that unity among the people of all religions in Yemen is the result of the Saudi aggression against their country. Ansarullah has gained more bargaining power and territory despite almost all international organizations supporting the side of the oppressors.
