RNA - The office of Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Yaqoubi, one of the renowned sources of emulation in Iraq, has issued a message welcoming the cessation of the Saudi-led airstrikes against Yemen. He called on all Yemeni political groups to negotiate a fair and acceptable outcome for all people in the impoverished Arab country.
On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia declared the end of “Operation Decisive Storm” against Yemen, and announced the beginning of a new phase dubbed “Operation Restoring Hope,” Saudi state TV reported but the air strikes have not finished so far.
According to a Saudi military statement, the new operation were meant to be aimed at commencing political talks and delivering aid.
In the message, Ayatollah Yaqoubi expressed his happiness that the month-long Saudi aggression has ended. He also emphasized the importance of the role of diplomacy to solve the current crisis.
His Eminence’s message added that Ayatollah Yaqoubi has offered a great deal of advice on how to stop the military action against Yemen and is hopeful that the various Yemeni political groups will be able to negotiate fairly, honestly and transparently in order to achieve just results for the people of the long-suffering country.
Ayatollah Yaqoubi pointed to the beginning of the relief and outreach efforts to rebuild Yemen’s destroyed public infrastructure and government agencies, saying that these contributions are providing appropriate assistance for rebuilding and repairing and identifying channels to restore trust among the Yemeni people.
The renowned Iraqi source of emulation explained that the suffering and tragedy imposed on the people of Yemen is sufficient proof that war and violence are powerless and incapable weapons against the use of wisdom and reasoning to solve problems as war only causes the deaths of many innocent victims.
According to reports, some 2,800 people, including women and children, have lost their lives in the month-long Saudi-led aggression, which has not damaged the resistance and power of the Ansarullah Movement [Houthis].
