RNA – Speaking at a ceremony in the Beqaa valley city of Qabb Ilyas, Shaykh Ahmad al-Qattan, the head of Lebanon's Qawluna wal-Amal (Say and Act) Society, criticized the integrity of some Arabic countries due to their support of the Saudi-led invasion of Yemen.
The Sunni Muslim scholar stated that Arab countries have forgotten Palestine while they support the Sauid invasion on Yemen.
He added that instead of fighting a war of aggression on Yemen, Arabs must unite to liberate Jerusalem (al-Quds), its holy sites, and the occupied Palestinian territories from the Zionists.
Shaykh al-Qattan pointed to the importance of Lebanese national unity and Islamic unity in regard to the ongoing crisis in Yemen. He added that the people of Lebanon have experienced civil war and can understand the devastating effects of war.
He stressed that it is essential that the Lebanese people learn from sectarian war because the country is under the imminent threat of religious and sectarian strife due to its extreme religious diversity and a political system divided on sectarian and religious lines.
Shaykh al-Qattan also urged support for the Lebanese army against Takfiri terrorist groups operating on the eastern borders of the country.
“Takfirism is not compatible with Islam. We Sunnis are disgusted and fed up with their actions,” he added.
