RNA – Speaking at a ceremony marking the foundation of the Imam Husayn (A) Complex in the southern Lebanese city of Tyre, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Hashim Safiuddin, the chairman of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, stressed that the Saudi regime has been defeated militarily and on the battlefield despite fighting by sea and air against the Yemeni people.
“Saudi Arabia has so far failed militarily and practically on the ground during its aggression on Yemen during the past two weeks. They must know that even if the bomb Yemen for a month or two, they will never achieve their goals. So, why do they continue to shed more blood of the innocent, poor and vulnerable Yemeni people?” he said
His Eminence compared Saudi Arabia to Israel, saying: “Israel felt the same dilemma after the first week of its aggression on Lebanon during its 33-day war against Lebanon in 2006 and discovered that it was not able to achieve any of its objectives due to the steadfastness of the [Islamic] resistance. The Saudi regime, like the Zionist regime which was brought to its knees during its aggression against Lebanon, has not able to advance its cause in Yemen,” he said.
Hujjat al-Islam Safiuddin added that Saudi Arabia has already reached the benchmark of the Zionist regime’s atrocities by targeting Yemen’s already weak infrastructure Yemen and by killing untold numbers of innocent women and children.
He rejected claims by some countries about the risk of Ansarullah (Houthis) to the Bab al-Mandeb strait, pointing out that while there are several Israeli, American and French military bases around the Bab al-Mandeb, they are overlooked by the Saudis, who feel no sense of danger due to these bases on their doorstep. However, today the people of Yemen have been able to achieve power in this strategic region, and this angers the Saudis.
The senior member of Hezbollah said most regions and cities in Yemen today have fallen under the control of the military and popular committees despite being targeted by missiles from foreign aircraft and warships. Saudi Arabia knows that the people of Yemen are financially poor but have a strong sense of pride and dignity and will thwart all attempts by Saudi Arabia to bully them.
Hujjat al-Islam Safiuddin criticized the Arab media for stirring up differences between Yemenis, saying that the current trend of religious incitement has been fuelled and exacerbated by the Arab media. Religious conflict has no precedence in Yemen. Without doubt, these desperate attempts to create religious conflict there will fail.
