Saudi-led war against Yemen result of human motives not religious ones

RNA – Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad-Taqi al-Modarresi, one of the prominent scholars of the Iraqi holy city of Karbala, strongly criticized the Saudi-led war against Yemen, saying that the Zionist regime wants to drown the entire Middle East in civil war in order to maintain its share in the sale of weapons on the global market.

His Eminence made the remarks in his meeting with a group of cultural activists at his office, where he spoke to them about the current situation in Yemen.

Ayatollah al-Modarresi said the coalition of Arab countries against Yemeni certainly does not appear to be in the best interests of the region or its participants and emphasized that the coalition will not achieve its goals.

The renowned Iraqi scholar explained that the open support of Arab and international media sources for the Saudi-led war against Yemen was a “tribal” war, saying: "this war is a result of human motives and not launched due to religious or sectarian motives. The bombing of the innocent people of Yemen with Saudi warplanes is a great injustice and an act of enmity.”

Ayatollah al-Modarresi severely condemned the bombing of a refugee camp in northern Yemen which resulted in the deaths of 40 people and injured 200 others, including women and children.

In another part of his speech, His Eminence emphasized on the need for Muslims to return to the Quran and Ahlul-Bayt (A), saying that various segments of the population, from children to the elderly, should acquaint themselves with the culture of the Holy Quran and implement its verses in their lives.
