Rasa News Agency Reports – In this week’s Friday Prayers, the Friday Preacher of the city of Najaf felt sorry for the recently happened events in Salman Beig and Howaija cities and said that the armed conflict between protesters and the security forces is unacceptable, and all must know that they won’t gain their demands with violation.
“Shiite won’t enter a religious war with these words, because the Shiite is totally aware of the traps being laid [for them] and have not forgot about their main foe which is the terrorists and the Ba’ath party” he clarified, mentioning the tribal negotiations of the Sunni provinces of Iraq.
“These tribal talks can’t be done by the [real] Sunnis and Sunnis are well aware of their brotherhood with the Shiite. Those who are after destroying this brotherhood are working against the interest of the Shiite and Sunni” he insisted.
On the other part of his speech he considered the glorious presence of the Iraqi nation over the ballot boxes of the election for the provincial councils as an epic and added that the participation of people is acceptable regarding the current situation in Iraq. This presence was not based on “emotions” he said “rather it was based on wisdom and different researches”.
“The world bet on the victory of the liberals in this election, but their fortune telling turned out to be wrong and religious principle won [the election] and the nation proved it is a supporter of religion” he pointed out.
Mentioning the role of the Islamic jurists in the people’s participation in the election, he stated: “The Islamic jurists have always been at the scene [of the politics] and are guiding people. We now should seek unity and understand that there is no other choice”.
“Governing the country by the winner parties” he said “is natural, but one shouldn’t just let go of others. All of the parties should [be able to] participate in governing the country”.
It’s worth saying that the protesters in the Sunni provinces of Iraq attacked military bases in the cities of Howaija and Soleiman Beig and the armed conflict between them and the military forces left to scores f dead and wounded from both sides. The protesters, among whom the presence of the terrorists was quite obvious, chanted anti-Shiite slogans.
