RNA – Speaking during his advanced jurisprudence class at Qom’s Masjid al-Adham (Grand Mosque), Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi, offered his condolences on the sorrowful martyrdom anniversary of Lady Fatimah az-Zahra, the beloved daughter of the Prophet Muhammad.

 

He stressed that we must take Lady Fatimah as a role model and revive the “Fatimi” lifestyle among Muslims. Realizing this important factor in society will help solve the moral, cultural and social problems affecting society. “We believe that a significant portion of the those who act immorally, abuse the economy and embezzlement money are a result of detachment from religious principles,” he emphasized.

 

He emphasized that the real Shi’ism is not merely based on claims, but rather it is action-oriented, saying: “We cannot claim to be followers Imam Ali and Lady Fatimah but behave in a manner which is not based on their lifestyle.”

 

The renowned seminary scholar urged all orators and lecturers to explain all aspects of the lifestyle of Lady Fatimah to the people, especially the younger generation.

 

Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi said that we should revive the principle of “enjoining the good and forbidding the evil” in society. He noted that enjoining the good means “not quarrelling and creating chaos” in society.

 

The revered source of emulation stressed that any criticism of the government should be accomplished without spite, and said people should aim for sincerity and compassion when mentioning their problems to the government. With this method, the state will pay attention to its weaknesses and will try to solve and resolve the problems. He added that politicians and officials should take advantage of constructive criticism.

 

In another part of his speech, explained that today, the world is full of oppression, injustice and discrimination and the people are tired and thirsty for pure Islamic teachings and said that in such a situation we need to explain the foundations of Islam to the people of the world in a language that is the people can easily understand. Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi added that social and economic justice are very important in the teachings of Islam.
