RNA – Speaking at a ceremony marking the martyrdom anniversary of Lady Fatimah az-Zahra, Hujjat al-Islam Kazem Seddiqi, the temporary Friday prayer leader of Tehran, offered his condolences on this sorrowful occasion and spoke on how she is a perfect role model for all Muslims.
He spoke about the lofty personality and high spiritual station of the Prophet Muhammad’s beloved daughter and explained that this great lady and the Infallible Imams are the most perfect human beings and thus worthy of being taken as role models for all Muslims.
Hujjat al-Islam Seddiqi pointed out that in the Holy Quran, God has introduced a number of women as a model for all human beings, stating that Asiyah, the wife of the cruel and polytheist Pharaoh of Egypt, was not effected by the Pharaoh’s beliefs and was a staunch believer and monotheist despite the conditions in which she lived. He added: “In Islam, men and women can both reach perfection as human beings and there is no difference between them in this.”
His Eminence explained that the Iranian peoples’ piety can keep Iran from relying on the United States. Some think that Iran needs the US and that without them, nothing good will happen. “Our strength and sustenance is in God. With the existence of God and the Ahlul-Bayt we need nobody. The duration of the Holy Defence (Iran-Iraq War) was a divine miracle and we should not change our thoughts and line in regard to this,” he explained.
Hujjat al-Islam Seddiqi explained that Lady Fatimah is a example of contentment and a nation which is content is not afraid of sanctions. He added that those who live an elite lifestyle cannot lead revolutionary lifestyles. Those Iranians those whose children have left for the US and Europe and seek a life of fun and pleasure cannot protect their religious beliefs and honour and cannot endure hardships.
He explained that Shi’as must take Lady Fatimah as a model to raise and nurture their children in a proper Islamic manner and added that we should teach our children about the culture of jihad, religion and revolution so that they can counter the doubts spread by the enemies. He also emphasized that Muslims should unite.
