Rasa – Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi offered his recommendations to the people for the Persian new year, expressing hope that Iran’s ongoing nuclear talks will reach a honourable resolution and that the economic, ethical and cultural problems will be resolved.

RNA – Speaking during his last jurisprudence class of the Iranian year of 1393, Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi lectured to his students gathered at Qom’s Masjid al-A’dham (Grand Mosque) about his expectations for the new year.

 

After speaking about Islamic ethics, Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi emphasized that Islam is not opposed to healthy entertainment Master lesson outside Qom Seminary continued his speech by saying that Islam is not opposed to healthy entertainment but said that some mediums of entertainment are being misused and abused to propagate negative propaganda against Islam.

 

Propagandists portray Islam as being against all forms of healthy and legitimate forms of entertainment but Islam is not against the mediums themselves, but rather Islam is against the negative effects that they have on society.

 

Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi said that everything must be combined with proper management, including the need to manage the Norouz holiday. Good management is that from which we can see benefits and harms.

 

The revered source of emulation also expressed his hope that the nuclear issue will be solved honourably in the upcoming new year as discussions with the P5+1 group of countries conclude.

 

He also hoped the same in regards to the various economic, ethical and cultural problems facing Iranian society. 

 

Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi expressed hope that the blessings and favours of Lady Fatimah az-Zahra, who’s sorrowful martyrdom anniversary coincides with the celebration Norouz this year, will continue in the new year and Iran and all Muslims will continue to progress and thrive.
