RNA – The Iraq-based Indo-Pakistani source of emulation, Ayatollah Bashir al-Najafi strongly warned against the misuse of the issue of Mahdawiyah (Islamic messianism), saying: “Some contemporary groups propagate and misuse the issue of Mahdawiyah in a way that is against the true form of Mahdawiyah and in a way that strikes at the school of thought of the Ahlul-Bayt (A) and damages it in the eyes of others.”

Ayatollah al-Najafi made the remarks in his meeting with a group of pilgrims at his office in the Iraqi holy city of Najaf.

His Eminence added that “These groups seek to reach their goals by misusing Islamic concepts and they end up leading Muslim youths astray with their deviant teachings,” he added.

He told the pilgrims that self-purification and the acquirement of knowledge are the basis of the important relationship between the Islamic seminary system and the university system. “The duty of teaching religious sciences to the people is the responsibility of the seminary and the university system also has an important role to play in teaching various sciences to the people.”

Ayatollah al-Najafi emphasized that the enemies of Islam are striving to strike at the Shi’ah school of thought at every time and at every place because [they realize] Shi’ism is the true form of Islam which the Prophet Muhammad (S) presented to the world.

At the end of his lecture to the youths, Ayatollah al-Najafi stated: “Youth must seek to hold firm to the line of the thought of the Infallible Imams (A) and fight against false claimants to the Imamate and other deviant thoughts and teachings which have entered Islam.
