Rasa - The Religious Freedoms Department official at Bahrain Human Rights Observatory (BHRO) called for the reconstruction of the mosques destroyed by the ruling Al Khalifa regime.
Sheikh Meytham al-Salman

RNA -  Sheikh Maytham al-Salman said the regime must rebuild the 38 mosques it has illegally demolished exactly where they had been, Iran's Tasnim reported.

He said Bahraini people are demanding that the mosques be rebuilt and those behind the demolitions be put on trial.

The cleric warned the regime officials against the political, social and legal consequences of indifference to people’s demand.

The Al Khalifah rulers have demolished dozens of mosques as part of the ongoing crackdown on pro-democracy protests.

Almost daily protests have been held against the regime since February 2011, when thousands of pro-democracy protesters took to the streets, calling for the royal family to leave power.
