RNA – “If it was a Muslim man in the place of this killer, and if he would have killed three other students in this way, it would have been a hot cake for the media and anti-Muslim groups to launch the campaign against all the Muslims right away,” Mokhtar Faezi told Tasnim News Agency.
“Nobody would wait for the results of any proper investigations of such killings,” he said, adding, “Day and night media outlets would be blaming all the Muslims for this.”
“Unfortunately, these double standards are common practice of our time.”
Elsewhere in his remarks, the cleric pointed to the reason behind Islamophobia in the United States and said the US is failing in international power struggles and disputes and this sense of losing and failing is creating more and more Islamophobia in America.
They lost in Afghanistan, they lost in Iraq, they lost in Syria and they are basically loosing everywhere in Muslim world.
“Also, they had hoped that after 9/11, the extremely negative campaign and harsh treatment against Muslims would totally marginalize the Muslims in US and West but Muslims have survived all the harsh pressures and on the contrary, have become more organized and active.”
“This is a big concern for those who were in control of public opinion and power in this country. Growing numbers of Muslims and their growing interest for participation in mainstream American public enterprise is increasing the Islamophobia.”
