RNA – In a meeting with Jahanbakhsh Najafzadeh, the mayor of Qom’s 7th district, Grand Ayatollah Mohammad-Ali Alavi-Gorgani emphasized that supervision over government affairs is one of the most important duties of a government, saying: “The government must place privatization and the transfer of government affairs to the people as the highest priority.”
“The government should encourage privatization because if the state is involved in most of development projects it will lead to the dissatisfaction of the people. Thus, it is better if the people and the technology companies invest and supervise most projects,” he added.
His Eminence stated that in many cases the competition among investment firms is a good practice, saying: “If this is done, the projects and plans will be implemented better than they would be if they were state-controlled.”
Ayatollah Alavi-Gorgani referred to Iran’s currency exchange, explaining that that investors should have a role in the affairs of the country and participate in development projects which aid in the economic growth of the country.
The renowned scholar emphasized that many countries have welcomed foreigners from people from owning land and investing in their countries because this action grants privileges to the landowners who should be responsible and take advantage of their experiences to facilitate the acquisition of land.
Ayatollah Alavi-Gorgani pointed out that some property owners do not allow the municipality to acquire their land, and stated: “Some of the owners of the land exceed the land value determined by [real estate] experts and demand payment from the municipality. In this regard, the municipality should act quickly to appraise the value of land.”
At the end of the meeting, Ayatollah Alavi-Gorgani explained that every city must expand in regard to population density because population density causes problems for the citizens of the city and the city itself, it is necessary for the municipal executives to consider how to solve the problems of the city in the current era so the city does not face major problems in the future.
