RNA – In a message issued on Friday Iraq’s top cleric, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Sistani, the Ayatollah condemned burning alive of the Jordanian pilot by the ISIL terrorists urging all regional nations as well as the international community to fight the terrorist group.
The statement which was read out by the representative of Ayatollah Sistani, Sheikh Abdel-Mahdi al-Karbalai also called the Iraqi government to pave the way for the return of displaced Iraqis to liberated areas that were previously under the ISIL control.
On February 3, ISIL posted a video online showing the Takfiri terrorists setting alight the Jordanian pilot, Moaz al-Kassasbeh.
The video showed Kassasbeh dressed in an orange jumpsuit and surrounded by flames of fire inside a metal cage.
The pilot was captured by ISIL in December when his plane came down in northern Syria during a mission against the terrorist group.
The ISIL terrorist group, with members from several Western countries, controls parts of Iraq and Syria, and has been involved in a series of heinous crimes against civilians and government forces in the two Arab countries.
In recent weeks, the Iraqi and Syrian forces have clinched decisive victories against the Takfiri terrorists and recaptured many areas.
