RNA – Leading the weekly congregational prayers in the holy city of Qom, Ayatollah Ali-Reza Arafi congratulated the believers gathered on the occasion of the “Ten-Day Dawn,” which celebrates the return of Imam Khomeini (RA) to Iran from exile and the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
Ayatollah Arafi stated that the Islamic Revolution changed the equation of the world and added that the greatest gift of our time is the Islamic Revolution and that due to this, the highest responsibility on our shoulders, especially the people of Qom and the Islamic Seminaries. “Officials should consider the opinions and advice of clerics and scholars and implement and practice their advice,” he stated.
His Eminence listed several basic principals of the Islamic Revolution, emphasizing that the glorious Revolution returned Iran to true Islam, re-established a religious identity and political and social Islam, emphasized pure Muhammadan Islam which stands against “American Islam,” distinguished the position of the clergy and the sources of emulation, established a role model for different communities, emphasized scientific and political independence, freedom, changed the life style, taught the people to avoid extravagance, gave them strength, justice, gave aid to the oppressed and weak and established Wilayat al-Faqih (Guardianship of the Jurisprudent).
Ayatollah Arafi explained that the promotion of Islamic unity is one of the greatest successes of the Islamic Revolution in the international arena. “Unfortunately, many officials ignored this message, but if they wanted to solve the problems facing the Muslim world, they should not have hindered it.”
The president of al-Mustafa International University referring to the 22nd day of the Iranian month of Bahman (11 February), which marks the victory of the Islamic Revolution, called for people across the country to turn out in large numbers in rallies to reaffirm their allegiance to the ideals of the Islamic Revolution and Imam Khomeini (RA), saying: “People, due to a sense of responsibility, and their adherence to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei], should be present with glory and insight [in the rallies].”
His Eminence emphasized that the responsibilities of the people and authorities in regard to the Islamic Revolution are very heavy and stressed the need to preserve the achievements in Islamic values, revolutionary discourse and Imam Khomeini’s efforts. “Of course we have problems, but we are trying to preserve and emphasize the achievements of the Islamic Revolution in the domestic and international arenas.”
In conclusion, Ayatollah Arafi emphasized that by returning to the “pure and original Islam” we can solve all problems facing society. He stated that that the family is the foundation of any society, said that if the family is healthy, than society will also be healthy. “In order for the human race to continue, we need to fulfill the natural and emotional, spiritual, and educational needs of the next generation of society,” he said.
