RNA – Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani explained that we can apply the Holy Quran’s verses to different historical eras and verse 8:26 can apply to Iran’s situation before and after the Islamic Revolution. In this verse God Almighty says:
“Remember when you were few, abased in the land, and feared lest the people should despoil you, and He gave you refuge, and strengthened you with His help, and provided you with all the good things so that you may give thanks.” [8:26]
His Eminence stated that the enemy is oppressing Iran through cultural, scientific, political and economic means. Before the Islamic Revolution, the henchmen of the West ruled over Iran and the fate of our country, in various dimensions, was in the hands of these foreigners.”
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani added that under the Pahlavi monarchy, the Iranian people were always in a state of fear. Western governments had a colossal influence and authority over Iran and strongly supported the Shah’s regime.
The source of emulation made the remarks in his meeting with administrators and staff of the Imam Ali (A) Charitable Institution in the city of Rey.
His Eminence referred to Ayatollah Sayyed Abol-Qasem Mostafavi-Kashani’s struggle against the Shah’s regime and opposition to foreign intervention in Iran and his efforts to nationalize the oil industry, calling him a “great hero and scholar.”
The renowned source of emulation explained that the United States sought to return Mohammad-Reza Shah Pahlavi to power after he was exiled in 1953 and spread propaganda to convince that if he did not return to power, the godless communists would take control. Many religious people believed these words and they prayed for the return of the Shah. As soon as he was put back on the thrown, many of those who were involved were arrested on the pretext that they are pro-communist.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani explained that Imam Khomeini (RA) laid the foundations for the Islamic Revolution and that with the assistance of the Iranian people, the arrogant and despotic powers were eliminated and created a free and independent society.
He explained that from the aforementioned verse of the Holy Quran we can understand that the great Islamic Revolution was achieved with the help of God and it had abundant spiritual and material blessings for the people and we should thank them for the efforts.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani stated that when the Islamic Revolution succeeded, the Iranian destroyed the statues of the Shah across the country. “This is similar to [the Prophet Muhammad’s destruction of the idols [in the Ka’bah], he stated. “No one believed that anyone could break these idols, but Imam Khomeini destroyed the 2500-year-old imperial regime of the Shah!”
