RNA - Islamic Republic's official news agency quoted senior cleric Ayatollah Abdullah Javadi Amoli earlier today as saying that insult to the holy Prophet of Islam Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH) and publication of sacrilegious cartoon is a whirlwind which would soon swallow the culprits behind the sacriligous move.

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli speaking to a group of his students, said those behind the dirty move are in fact moving in line with pagans and polytheists.

'Ridiculing and negating prophets is not something new,' said the Ayatollah.

The French weekly’s latest edition features a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) shedding a tear while holding a sign that reads “Je suis Charlie” with the words “All is forgiven” in French above it on a green background.

Charlie Hebdo made the move a week after 12 people were killed in a terrorist shooting at its offices in Paris on January 7.

The French weekly has repeatedly provoked Muslim anger by publishing offensive cartoons featuring Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) which is considered an act of sacrilege.
