RNA – Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi explained that the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom has a positive effect on various issues – including religious, social, political and economic issues.
Citing the Holy Quran, the revered source of emulation stated that many of the problems people face are created by the people themselves. God states that these problems can be blessings for the awakening of the Islamic community and people. “That corruption which is found is warning sign that we should wake up and listen to their message,” he emphasized.
According to Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi, the dangerous issues with which the enemies threaten the world today are mainly cultural, economic, military and political issues. He stated that he is not mentioning these issues to intimidate [Iranians] but so that they can contemplate to find alternative means to deal with them.
Due to Iran’s growing strength, threats to the system of the Islamic Republic of Iran have lessened. The options with which they have regularly threatened us are [still] on the table – some are open and some are under the table. “The strength of our country has reached a level that they cannot attack our system.”
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi emphasized that the enemies have attempted to spread many doubts in the media and they have persisted in creating, propagating and supporting false and deceptive sects, false forms of gnosticism and spirituality. “When someone [joins] a false sect, the [joyful] shrieks of the American Congress are heard. These enemies seek to weaken [Muslims’] faith, especially that of the youth.”
The renowned scholar explained that the enemies also utilize various media to create and spread corruption, sedition and falsehood among Muslims, but unfortunately, some of the Iranian media outlets are asleep: “When we say the Internet should be cleaned up to prevent the youth from falling into danger, they say we can not in the way of progress. When we have progressed, you will wake up and see what a dangerous bomb you have installed in your homes.”
In order to fight against the enemies’ plots, Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi recommended the production of various programs, especially those for the youth, which strengthen knowledge of the Quran and love of the Ahlul-Bayt. He emphasized that the younger generation is our main asset and if the enemy can penetrate them and corrupt their faith and morals, we will lose our original investment.
