Rasa - Ayatollah Khamenei says Middle Eastern countries pursuing a hostile approach toward Iran are making a "big mistake" and this is contradictory to the rule of sound mind and rationalism.

RNA - In a meeting with the delegates to the Islamic Unity Conference, Islamic Republic’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said the enemy’s intelligence agencies are behind divisive plots hatched against Muslims.

“The hands that sow discord among Shias and Sunnis are linked to the spy services of the enemies of Islam,” the supreme leader said.

“The [so-called] Shiism linked to the UK’s MI6 is not [real] Shia [Islam], nor is the [so-called] Sunnism which is the mercenary of America’s CIA [real] Sunni [Islam], but both are against Islam,” he added.

Regarding some Middle Eastern countries pursuing a hostile approach against Iran the supreme leader said “that is a big mistake and contradictory to the rule of sound mind and rationalism," adding “Establishment of friendly relations with Muslim and neighbouring countries is the basis of the Iranian foreign policy.”

In relevant remarks in November 2013, Ayatollah Khamenei said “A major problem of the Muslim World today is the imposed, intentional and wicked problem of kindling differences among the Muslim Ummah and (Islam’s) religious sects,” Ayatollah Khamenei said addressing Hajj officials in Tehran.

The Supreme Leader said that the global arrogance and colonialist powers were fully experienced in igniting sectarian strife among Muslims, adding, “Hajj’s capacities should be used for confronting (and defusing) these plots under the present conditions.”
