RNA – Speaking on the “In Remembrance of God” program on IRIB’s Quran television channel, Hujjat al-Islam Kazem Ershad, a professor in the Islamic Seminary of Qom and an expert in national media, Eminence explained that the arrogant powers of the world are not just against Shi’ism specifically but against Islam in general, saying: “Presently, the enemies say that Muslims are killing each other due to the sectarian differences between them. But the arrogant enemies are not just the enemies of Shi’ites but all Muslims and Shiaphobia is just an excuse of the enemies and their main aim is to eradicate all Muslims.”
Hujjat al-Islam Ershad emphasized that the enemies seek to weaken Islam. When the enemies use the differences between the various schools of thought in Islam as a method to weaken Muslims and they seek to remove their roots from the ground. For this reason, all Muslims must stand up against the plots of the enemies with vigilance because their aim is not just to remove Shi’ism, but to threaten the entire Muslim world.
The renowned scholar explained that according to narrations from the Prophet Muhammad, any person who harasses a Muslim believer commits an unforgivable sin: “Hurting a Muslim brother and rejecting him is an act similar to idolatry. Thus, one must guard his words, actions and manner of speaking so that, God forbid, his actions do not hurt his Muslim brother because the Prophet Muhammad and several verses in the Holy Quran clearly state that we must act with mercy and kindness toward our fellow Muslims and be act firm with non-Muslims.”
“Presently, the enemies of Islam are much stronger and unyielding than Muslims are. Thus, it is obligatory upon Muslims to stand against these enemies with unyielding strength. By uniting against the enemies, Muslims will be victorious,” Hujjat al-Islam Ershad added.
He explained that in Islamic narrations, it is emphasized that if an issue is detrimental to a small group of Muslims but is beneficial to the worldwide Islamic community we must remain silent. We must prefer that which is better for the general Muslim community than what is better for ourselves. Thus, we must strive on the path of unity so that we can be victorious over the enemies.
Hujjat al-Islam Ershad emphasized that the worldwide population of Muslims is very large but expressed regret that despite their large population and their qualities, they are divided into sects, which allow the enemies to weaken them. Due to this, the enemies have been able to take control of Muslim countries. “Muslims must unite in order to strengthen their capabilities in order to eliminate the enemies,” he stressed.
“If the enemies want to weaken us, it is certain that they will eliminate both Sunni and Shi’ite Muslims together,” Hujjat al-Islam Ershad concluded.
