RNA – Speaking on the arrest of Bahraini opposition leader, Shaykh Ali Salman, Hujjat al-Islam Sa’idi stated that the Bahraini people are seeking their legitimate rights because they are being violated by the Al Khalifah regime and their Saudi allies.
“The arrest of this [revered] Bahraini scholar will only launch another wave of protests and objections. These protests should not subside until they achieve their objectives,” he stated.
Qom’s Friday prayer leader made the remarks during his Friday prayer sermon in the holy city of Qom amid escalation of tensions following the arrest of Bahraini Shi’ite opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman.
Ayatollah Sa’idi also mentioned Saudi Arabia’s role in the Bahraini crisis saying Saudi Arabia is the “greatest traitor” and “interventionist” in the region as well as “the axis of all evil in the region”, and added: “We are hopeful that their oil conspiracy against the other members of OPEC fails.
Regarding Iran’s massive naval exercises held this week, Ayatollah Sa’idi stated that they show Iran’s might to the world and stated that Iran’s military might is due to the wise leadership of Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei and the support of the Iranian people.
He also congratulated the believers on the beginning of Islamic Unity Week, which celebrates the week between the two different dates narrated by Sunni and Shi’ite Muslim traditions regarding the Prophet Muhammad’s birth date and stated that the Prophet of Islam [Muhammad] placed a strong emphasis on unity, saying that unity and charity will provide the Muslim community with many benefits.
Thus, His Eminence pointed to the need to protect one’s piety. The best way to do this is to pray as prayer completes man’s link to God and prevents one from evil actions and keeps ones piety uncontaminated.
“If we want to encourage chastity and veiling (hijab) of women and decrease vices, we should give prayer and marriage [their due] importance and realize the treasures of prayer, hijab and modesty,” he added.
He also stated that on January 6th, Iranians will mark the anniversary of Reza Khan’s ban of the hijab, which took place on January 6, 1936. He explained that the effects of this act still remain as the conspirators are striving to negatively influence Iran’s youth through satellite channels. “The authorities must give this issue due attention and importance and fight against their aggression,” he stressed.
