Rasa - The 14th Honoring Ceremony for Researchers of Manuscripts inaugurated with the message of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani followed by talks given by the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati held at Iran’s National Library.
Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani

According to Iran's Book news agency correspondent, this event was held in the year 2000 for the first time -hosted by the Library of Parliament- has been recognized as a valuable occasion to observe and appraise the efforts and studies done by the researchers who attempted to identify, correct, revive, print, preserve and acquaint the public with Iranian and Islamic manuscripts.

Message sent by Ayatollah Rafsanjani to this event is as follows:

One of my brightest memories since seminarian days and referring to theological texts is about manuscripts. However, my most vivid memory might be my years of serving at the Islamic Assembly of Majlis when I was occasionally in contact with a great literary man and a manuscript expert, Mr. Abdolhossein Ha’eri. He always emphasized the attention owed to the precious library of Majlis as an inherited treasure.

In a new approach this year, due to the importance of preserving and expanding the culture of the written Shi’ite texts, it was attempted to highlight the celebration by focusing on excellent Shi’ite texts led by 'Nahj al-Balagha’ (Peak of Eloquence) by Imam Ali (AS) and introduce the scholars who have spent their lives in the course of development and expansion of the rich Shi’ite.
