RNA – Calling the 9th of Dey the “Day of God,” Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani explained that the sedition of 2009 was a coup d'état aimed at destroying and subverting the Iranian Islamic Revolution. “This coup d'état was supported by the United Kingdom, the United States and Israel and was yet another attempt to unite all of its agents in order to shed of the blood and destroying those who sacrificed [themselves] for Imam Khomeini and the martyrs [of the Islamic Revolution],” he explained.

The renowned source of emulation stressed that we cannot forget the sedition of 2009, saying: “If this movement did not ferment the passions of the wise people of Iran, the seditionists would have been able to fulfill their plans. Again, the seditionists attacked the tents of those mourning for “the Master of the Martyrs” [Imam Husayn] and set fire to his [holy] flag.”

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani stated that the 9th of Dey can be considered one of the “Days of God,” saying that the Holy Quran states: “remind them [your people] of God’s [holy] days.” [14:5] “The Days of God are those days where God’s power is victorious and are days of dignity for the Muslims. We must always remember that if our wise people were not present on the streets and in the squares, all [that we have] would have been lost,” he added.

The revered scholar stated that: “On the 9th of Dey, our people taught the arrogant powers of the world, the seditionists and their agents a valuable lesson. They understood that even if they make the slightest move against [Iran], the people will strike back.”

“If the seditionists honestly repent from their transgressions, just as Hurr [ibn Yazid al-Riyahi] did, the Iranian nation will embrace them but if they want to continue their work, our intelligent and awakened nation will stand against them,” he said.

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani pointed to the abusive and deviant slogans chanted by the seditionists during their protests in 2009, stating that they said: “Neither Gaza, nor Lebanon, my life is for Iran.” They aimed their slogans at the Resistance Axis.

He added that Lebanon, Gaza and Syria are Iran’s frontline with Israel and the United States and their agents, explaining: “If we do not support them, the Zionist and arrogant nations’ would be able to threaten us would be accumulated and all our blood and toil which led to our revolution’s victory would have been wasted. The seditionists sought to overthrow the Islamic Revolution and return Iran to the reign of the tyrant Shah who ruled Iran by belittling and humiliating its people.”

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani concluded by saying: “This act by the seditionists was inspired by the enemy. Today it is obvious that all progress, self-confidence, courage and strength of our country’s military has emerged under the shadow of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei].”
