RNA – The Friday prayer leader of Iran’s holy city of Qom, Hujjat al-Islam Sa’idi condemned those leaders who created sedition after 2009 elections in Iran, saying that they claimed infractions before the official results were announced and made other false allegations of vote fraud.
Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Mohammad Sa’idi made the remarks during this week’s Friday prayers held at Qom’s Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah.

“They encouraged some thugs and hooligans who called themselves supporters of some of the defeated candidates in Iran to organize themselves and take to the streets [violently]. “The wicked acts of these individuals committed against Islam and the Islamic Revolution will never be forgotten,” Rasa News quoted him as emphasizing.

Due to the wise and strong insight by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, the situation was managed. Hujjat al-Islam Sa’idi explained that Ayatollah Khamenei knew where the roots of the sedition were and reminded the candidates to use the legal path to explain their claims of election fraud and to separate themselves from the thugs and hooligans but his advice was not heeded.

Hujjat al-Islam Sa’idi said there was confusion for about eight months, and the country had reached the brink due to riots and violence, but Iran’s leader patiently took control of the situation and the protesters were admonished. The puppets of the enemies created a disgraceful catastrophe on the solemn day of mourning for Imam Husayn. On this day, the election protestors fanned the flames of sedition with their fiery speeches and riots.

The trustee of the holy shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah stated that eventually, the patience of the people wore thin and on December 30, 2009, Iranians took to the streets of the country in the millions to condemn the “sedition movement,” and defended the Quran, the Ahlul-Bayt and the values of the Islamic Revolution. They also displayed their anger for the riots that took place on the holy day of Ashura and brought this crisis to an end which was a slap in the face of the aggressive United States, the deceptive United Kingdom and the occupying Zionist regime.

In conclusion, Hujjat al-Islam Sa’idi emphasized that the leaders of the sedition committed great crimes and betrayed the people of Iran and their crimes cannot be downplayed or forgotten.

Regarding the upcoming anniversary of the 9th of the Iranian month of Dey (December 30), Hujjat al-Islam Sa’idi praised the epic mass turnout of the nation to show their support for the Islamic establishment following post-election riots in the country in 2009. He said that this everlasting day is important because it shows the importance given by Islamic community to the system of Wilayat al-Faqih.

He explained the movement of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, cut off the arms of the American thieves in Iran, who stole Iran’s natural resources and oppressed its people under the Shah’s regime. “From the beginning, they sought to tarnish the image of Iran’s leader but by the grace of God, their plots were prevented by the Iranian people,” Hujjat al-Islam Sa’idi stated.

Qom’s Friday prayer leader explained that for over 30 years, every American administration treated Iran with hatred. In 2009, after thirty years of sanctions, difficulties and pressures against the Islamic Revolution, more than 80% of the eligible Iranian people selected the candidate of their choice in the presidential election and created a unique epic which angered the enemy.
